Investments in the real estate sector have significantly increased.
During the COVID-19 crisis, the Indian real estate sector experienced a severe downturn. However, after a prolonged period, the real estate sector is now making efforts to revive itself.
In this context, it has been reported that investments in the real estate sector have surged considerably. In the first quarter of 2022, investments in the Indian real estate sector amounted to $1.1 billion.
These investments have been primarily made by companies. According to a study conducted by Colliers, substantial investments are being made in office spaces and office buildings within the real estate sector.
Most of these investments are foreign investments. About 70% of the investments came from foreign countries, while 30% were domestic. This indicates an increased confidence of investors in the real estate sector.
Which segments within real estate are seeing the most investment? Office spaces, retail spaces, industrial, and logistics sectors account for 93% of the investments. Only $15 million, or 1%, has been invested in residential spaces.
